Windows Desktop Expert - Air Force / Space Team (Secret Clearance Required)

OSAAVA Services is seeking a Windows Desktop Expert to join our high-priority Air Force / Space team at Lackland Air Force Base. This role is integral to supporting critical operations within the Department of Defense (DoD) environment, and applicants must hold a Secret security clearance to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Operating System Management:

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems on desktop systems in a secure, government-managed environment.
• Ensure system updates, patches, and upgrades are implemented in accordance with DoD security standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA).

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for Windows desktop-related issues within a DoD network.
• Respond promptly to help desk tickets, resolving issues in line with mission-critical timelines and security requirements.

Security & Compliance:

• Ensure Windows desktop environments adhere to DoD security protocols and compliance standards, including enforcing cybersecurity measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and threats.
• Implement security best practices and work with senior cybersecurity teams to ensure systems are in full compliance with regulatory frameworks.

User Account & Access Management:

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls for Windows desktop systems, ensuring compliance with government data security policies.
• Monitor user activity and enforce stringent data security practices to protect sensitive government data.

Documentation & Training:

• Maintain detailed documentation for desktop configurations, troubleshooting protocols, and best practices, ensuring consistent adherence to DoD procedures.
• Conduct training for end-users, educating them on secure and effective use of Windows desktop systems in a high-security environment.

System Integration & Maintenance:

• Collaborate with IT professionals to integrate Windows desktop systems with existing military network infrastructure and other security technologies.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, disk cleanup, and system optimization while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity protocols.

Software & Hardware Support:

• Support the deployment and installation of software applications, ensuring compatibility with security requirements.
• Provide basic hardware support and coordinate repairs or replacements for Windows desktop systems.

Inventory & Asset Management:

• Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance with DoD asset tracking and management standards.

Additional Information:

Temporary Position with Potential for Permanent Role:

• This position is initially temporary, with paid travel expenses (hotel, rental car, etc.) for up to 30-60 days, after which there is potential for a permanent position based on performance and mission needs.
• Permanent employees will have the opportunity to continue supporting critical Air Force / Space operations and grow within the OSAAVA Services team.

Clearance & Certification Requirements:

• Secret clearance required (current or active).
• CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent required (DoD 8570 compliant).
