Job Description
**Job Title:** Radiology Technician

**Job Specialty:** Diagnostic Imaging

**Job Duration:** 26 weeks

**Shift:** 8-hour day shift, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 per week

**Experience:** Previous Radiologic Technologist experience preferred with one year post certification experience required for evaluating and/or instructing student radiographers

**License:** Licensed Radiology Technologist (required if working in Kansas)

**Certifications:**
- ARRT-R Registered Technologist, Radiology - R.T. (R) (ARRT)
- BLS American Heart Association

**Must-Have:**
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging, including Surgery and Trauma
- English proficiency: Speak, Read, and Write

**Job Description:**

- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department
- Perform high-quality images and exams while maintaining patient sensitivity
- Follow safe radiation practice standards, maintaining safety for self and patients
- Demonstrate leadership abilities, acting as a role model for other technologists
- Serve as a clinical resource for students, staff technologists, and hospital personnel
- Perform diagnostic radiology procedures with attention to radiation safety (ALARA)
- Produce quality images accurately and in a timely fashion
- Prepare patients for exams and provide information and instruction on procedures
- Assist patients during exams and ensure proper positioning
- Monitor patient and equipment during procedures, reporting/documenting any unusual occurrences
- Facilitate efficient patient flow and optimal use of resources
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, and other hospital staff
- Assist with patient transport as needed
- Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required
- Complete necessary paperwork and input charges/data for procedures
- Prepare room, equipment, and exam materials as needed
- Maintain technical operation of equipment and report issues to service/supervisor
- Keep work area clean and conduct regular quality checks and equipment maintenance
- Establish constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and departments
- Engage in ongoing education and share knowledge with staff

**Floating Requirements:**
- May be required to float to other locations within a 60-mile radius or specified float zone.
- Float assignments may include duties outside of original skill set in accordance with policy.
