About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Float Pool

Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12-hour night shifts, Zone 1

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: One year of experience preferred

License: State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)

Certifications:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Must-Have: Patient care experience and proficiency in EPIC

Job Description:
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
- Promotes the optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients through the use of the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and guidelines.
- Develops and implements patient care plans and observes outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrates competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions including IV therapy, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
- Provides patient and family education tailored to their learning readiness, needs, and abilities, and evaluates the effectiveness of teaching.
- Recognizes the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care.
- Delegates tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
- Functions effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.
- Serves as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing practices.
- Participates in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities to enhance clinical knowledge and role performance.
- Actively seeks out learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain competencies in clinical practice.
- Engages in ongoing participation in hospital and unit-based meetings and activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experiences, and safe delivery of care.
- Participates in floating assignments as required within a defined zone, potentially involving roles outside the original assignment.
