Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: Float Pool ICU CCU

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12-hour night shift

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: One year of experience preferred

License: State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) required

Certifications:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification - Required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Required for specific locations

Must-Have:
- Associate Degree in Nursing is required
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing is preferred

Job Description:

- Assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
- Promote optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient using the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records, and clinical data.
- Evaluate patients' responses and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement patient care plans and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competency in various therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including but not limited to IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
- Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
- Provide patient/family education through assessment of readiness, needs, and ability to learn. Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.
- Provide relationship-based care, engaging the patient or designee as a full partner in compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for preferences, values, and needs.
- Deliver care with respect for cultural differences and diversity of human experience.
- Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel following State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
- Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Act as a professional role model for all staff, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes.
- Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with individualized patient and unit needs.
- Use standards of care, hospital policies/procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
