Major Duties (Job Description)

  • You will serve as a Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic First-Line Engineering Supervisor for the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Competency.
  • You will make well-informed, effective, and timely decisions, even when data is limited, or solutions produce unpleasant consequences and perceive the impact and implications of decisions.
  • You will apply principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise of your team.
  • You will identify and analyze problems; weigh relevance and accuracy of information; generate and evaluate alternative solutions; and make actionable recommendations.
  • Provide and oversee Expeditionary Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), data science and artificial intelligence services for the engineering, design, integration, deployment, and sustainment of capabilities and products.
  • You will develop the ability of others to perform and contribute to the organization by providing ongoing feedback and by providing opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods.

Qualification Summary

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge of Expeditionary ISR and/or Data Science concepts; balancing of human capital management and technical knowledge and skill requirements; must be a strong coach and mentor; organized and employ clear, concise communication strategies. Ability to lead technical teams. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
