Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Network – Networks Development Environment Manager (24-372) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate and synchronize autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
The candidate will serve as a Network DE (Development Environment) Manager in this role. The candidate will coordinate all DE activities and be responsible for all day-to-day activities.
Essential Functions:
Create, maintain, and present KPIs and other metrics related to the Network Enterprise.
Extensive experience working with computer hardware and databases.
Oversee a large amount of computer information via servers and networking appliances.
Oversee equipment maintenance and inventory, customer service, and manage a shared environment.
Responsible for equipment maintenance tasks such as managing and installing patching, custom upgrades for customers, replacing cables, components, and accessories, maintaining records, and drawing schematics of the center to detail what equipment is installed.
Administrative duties include:
Scheduling downtime
Specific team usage
Planning for capacity changes
Maintaining corporate databases
Ensuring compliance with government regulations.
Support customer and other organization tours. Solves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long-term perspective. Erroneous decisions would normally fail to achieve major organizational objectives. May function in project leadership roles and represent the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts.
Produce and maintain the DE's dynamic status.
Report to ART leadership on a monthly cadence on the state of the DE.
Perform System Engineer duties and maintain the DE Security posture.
Work within an agile team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual agreements.
Travel to alternate work locations to execute job duties such as deployments is required.
Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers and independently on large field projects.
Basic Qualifications:
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
8 years with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 12 years experience instead of a degree. Or 6 years with a Master’s degree in a related field, or 4 years with a PhD.
Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
Experienced with Linux system administration.
Familiar with Backup and Recovery.
Experienced with STIG .
Experienced with Linux scripting like Python and Ansible .
Familiar with Ansible playbook development and management.
Familiar with Multi-Factor Authentication implementation experience.
Experience with Red Hat .
Familiar with NetApp OnTap .
Experienced with VMware vSphere 8
Preferred Qualifications:
Current and active Top Secret is highly desired.
Active Linux certification is highly desired.
Active CCNA is highly desired.
Active Red Hat Certified Expert (RHCE) is highly desired.
Familiar with HP C7000 configuration/update/management.
Familiar with HP OneView.
Prior C2BMC experience.
Developing KPIs, tracking other metrics, and creating reports.

Salary Range: $109,900 - $164,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
