Summary:

This is a Software Engineer position for our Identity Governance team. This team develops both front-end and back-end services that provide Identity Governance capabilities in the Delinea Platform.

This is a hybrid position in either the Colorado Springs, CO or Des Moines, IA office.

As Senior Full Stack Engineer, Java, you will work with other UI and API Software Engineers to build and enhance features on the cloud-based suite of Delinea products. You will be responsible primarily for the development of our REST API and back-end services written in Java that must be written in a highly scalable and secure nature, as well as developing user friendly user interfaces. Delinea emphasizes quality in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. In addition to development tasks, you will be a mentor to other API Software Engineers. The position reports to the Software Engineering Manager.

What You'll Do:

  • Be a fully contributing member of a Delinea Sprint team.
  • Design and develop full-stack solutions for Identity Governance functionality within the large-scale, cloud-native Delinea Platform. Emphasis on REST APIs and back-end services written in Java for large-scale, cloud-based application
  • Design, develop, and test User Interfaces written in Angular for large scale, cloud-native application.
  • Design and develop unit tests.
  • Using Scrum processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams (PM, UX, Dev) to understand requirements, propose technical solutions, and contribute to architectural decisions.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality and maintainable code.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to our core technologies.
  • Collaborate with team to include mentoring team members with less experience.
  • Ability to mentor other API Software Engineers on coding standards, best practices, and overall component architecture
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders and Product Managers during the design phase when building new features to build technical requirements and provide technical scope
  • Work directly with QA Engineers to build acceptance criteria and to test the features that you build. Participate in QA Regression Testing during each release cycle
  • Write and update product documentation to support the use of the features you build
  • Provide technical assistance on escalated customer support cases and provide bug fixes when necessary
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 or more years of Java development experience
  • Experience developing SaaS applications on a microservices architecture that integrate with a wide variety of other SaaS vendors and enterprise systems.
  • Experience with the Spring Framework for dependency injection.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs.
  • Strong system design skills and full software development lifecycle experience required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a globally distributed team.
  • Passionate about writing quality code and constantly honing your development skills.
  • Experience with large codebases and unit testing -- mock frameworks, automation testing, database testing, etc.
  • Familiarity with web-based security principles and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented principles.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Azure DevOps pipelines is a plus.
  • Experience with YAML is a plus.
  • Spring Boot, preferring an emphasis on Spring Security and Spring Web
  • Experience with Git and Maven
  • Experience with AMQP and/or the RabbitMQ message broker.

  • Ability to quickly read and understand both new and existing code.
  • Ability to look at the big picture, come up with great new ideas and execute those ideas by writing code to make it happen.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS)
  • Experience with DevOps practices (e.g. continuous integration, continuous deployment)


The base pay range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000 USD. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and will be based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, location and capabilities.
