Position Overview:
ProCare Therapy is seeking a qualified Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to work with K-12 students in Colorado. This independent contractor position requires a minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA). The role allows you to work remotely while supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing through virtual interpretation services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time sign language interpretation for virtual classroom instruction, school meetings, and extracurricular activities.
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, peers, and school staff.
- Tailor interpretation techniques to meet individual student needs and language proficiency levels.
- Collaborate with educators, special education staff, and families to ensure student success.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Stay current with best practices in sign language interpretation and virtual service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA).
- Certification and licensure to provide sign language interpretation in Colorado.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Previous experience in a school-based setting (virtual experience preferred).
- Strong technical skills and ability to work with teleconferencing platforms.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor.
