Description of Duties:
The Kubernetes Engineer supports the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).
As a Senior Kubernetes Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining secure and resilient Kubernetes environments for our application teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our platform is easy to use, reliable, and resistant to disruptions. By incorporating good DevSecOps practices, you will help improve the overall security and stability of our Kubernetes clusters. You will ensure that the platform enables application developers to deliver value while exceeding customer needs for stability and security.
Typical Duties Include:
- Creation and sustainment of Kubernetes clusters
- Installation, configuration, testing, and sustainment of DevSecOps tools
- Integration and automation of the DevSecOps tools to enable CI/CD
- Implementing automation in cluster and tool creation
- Implementing processes and procedures for utilizing the DevSecOps pipeline
- Maintenance of the DevSecOps pipeline to ensure availability for software developers
- Rapid resolution of DevSecOps pipeline issues
- Occasionally working nights and/or weekends to maintain a secure and resilient system

Work Location:
This position will be filled and work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.
Basic Requirements:
- Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
- Must have or obtain within 60 days of the start date an IAT Level II Certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
- 12 or more years of directly related IT experience
- 5 or more years of experience working with containerized and/or cloud platforms and implementing DevSecOps practices
- Experience with containerization and microservices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
- Experience working with Kubernetes
Desired Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and over 10 years of DevSecOps work experience
- Experience implementing CI/CD deployment pipelines for Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Kubernetes, refactored software projects for integration in larger ecosystems of applications
- Experience implementing DevSecOps in a container ecosystem
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms like Terraform and Ansible
- Experience in Test-Driven Development and Continuous Integration Environments
- Experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines in a VMware Tanzu environment
- 3 or more years of experience deploying and maintaining VMware Tanzu clusters
