Program Overview:
LS Gallegos and Associates Inc. has been contracted by the City of Colorado Springs to provide program and project management support services to the Public Works Department, assisting on Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) Capital Improvements & the Bridge Asset Management Program through 2034.
Internship Description:
As an Intern, you will be fully embedded with the City to assist with the Missing Sidewalk Program. The components of the program are to identify, prioritize, and oversee the construction of missing sidewalk segments to provide a continuous pedestrian network and ensure a safe walking environment in the Greater Colorado Springs area.
You will gain hands-on experience by providing daily support under the guidance of senior team members. You will gain exposure to project scheduling, project costs and funding, invoice analysis, the procurement and contracting process, construction management quality assurance, project reporting, and developing relationships with City consultants and staff.
Qualifications:
- You are a current college student, graduate, or career changer looking to enter a new industry.
- Anyone interested in gaining more experience in the urban infrastructure, planning, engineering, or architecture fields is encouraged to apply.
- Intermediate computing skills with Microsoft Suite programs are a must.
- No prior professional experience is required to apply.
This paid, full-time, on-site internship is available from May–August. Hours: 7:30-4:30 Monday – Friday. Pay range: $20 - $22 per hour.
This role is intended to provide an entry point into the industry, and we will help you develop your skills and experience along the way.
