The Application Specialist is responsible for supporting the District's learning management systems (currently Schoology), including troubleshooting, training, and managing integrations. Additionally, this role serves as a project manager for other IT system implementations, coordinating tasks, timelines, and communication to ensure successful deployment and adoption of new technologies.

Primary role is to provide technical support and troubleshooting for the learning management system, addressing user issues and system errors.
The secondary role is to take on the technical project manager role of new systems as they arise within the IT department.
Reports consistently for work as scheduled
Performs other duties as assigned
Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
Assists with coordinating application upgrades and patching
Communicates project goals, timelines, and milestones to stakeholders and team members
Conducts needs assessments and gather requirements to ensure new systems meet District objectives
Creates and maintains project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and post-implementation reviews
Creates and maintains documentation for disaster recovery purposes
Creates, maintains, and documents enterprise system policies and procedures
Defines reporting and scripting requirements and evaluate alternative solutions
Develops and delivers training sessions for staff on learning management system features and best practices
Facilitates collaboration between IT staff, vendors, and District departments to ensure project success
Manages system integrations between the learning management system and other District systems, including the District's student information system, ensuring seamless data flow
Monitors system performance and coordinate with vendors for updates or enhancements
Participates in training activities to further knowledge
Plans, coordinates, and oversees IT system implementation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope
Plans and delivers needed professional development for the District
Prioritizes workload and establish effective communication of those priorities
Provides secondary support for other enterprise systems which are not part of the primary assignment
Resolves technical issues and software bugs
Serves as an effective team member of the Information Technology department
Supervises a process governing authorization for enterprise systems to ensure application security
Works additional unscheduled hours when required for critical tasks and provide 24-hour support when critical needs arise
Works directly with end users to diagnose and resolve issues

Ability to analyze project requirements for impact on systems and integration dependencies

Ability to create training materials and publish content for web access
Ability to create, access, input, retrieve, and manipulate information in various software systems
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from many diverse backgrounds and professions including supervisors, administrators, coworkers, staff, students, parents, and the general public

Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree or two or more years (48 semester hours or more of college with no degree)
1+ year of Experience supporting a learning management system
Experience training and working with end users
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.)
Schoology experience in a support role
Infinite Campus Experience in a Support or End User Role
Experience working in an educational environment
Compensation Range:
$76,650-$86,650
(Based on job relevant experience at 100% FTE)
