If you're a highly motivated individual with substantial business tax preparation experience, exceptional communication skills, and an active, unrestricted credential (CPA/EA/Practicing Attorney), we want you to support our customers in completing their taxes using Intuit TurboTax Business products.
The successful candidate will take on the responsibility of managing complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations. We seek someone with a robust understanding of federal and state tax laws, along with extensive experience in preparing and filing both business and personal tax returns.
What you'll bring
- At least 3 years of recent experience in business tax preparation, including federal and state tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients annually, using commercial tax preparation software.
- An active, unrestricted credential: EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney.
- At least 2 seasons of experience in personal tax preparation, with a minimum of 30 tax returns per year in a tax practice or retail setting, is strongly preferred.
- Bookkeeping experience, particularly relating books to tax preparation, is a plus.
- Experience with business tax returns for service industry clients is strongly preferred.
- Possession or ability to obtain any necessary state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
- Must have or be able to obtain an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
- A commitment to a minimum schedule of at least 20 hours per week (minimum of 4-hour shifts) throughout the tax season.
- Familiarity with Circular 230.
- Proficiency with technology and a solid understanding of computer operations and software.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to professionally and confidently engage with customers through video and audio tools.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- A dedicated hardwired Internet connection that meets Intuit Security criteria and a quiet workspace.
How you will lead
- This is a virtual, customer-facing role requiring the use of advanced video communication software (Smartlook) to interact with customers.
- Assist TurboTax Business customers with:
- Tax advice
- Full-service business return preparation and signature
- Product and software inquiries
- Tax calculations
- Filing tax extensions
Create quality customer experiences that instill confidence through empathy and your expertise in business tax preparation and tax accounting. Utilize government resources, professional contacts, and team knowledge to provide accurate answers in layman's terms. Apply established practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries regarding tax advice and return preparation. Document all customer interactions. Continuously work towards meeting company key performance metrics and strategic goals. Engage in pilot testing, special projects, and user experience validations as needed.
