Job Description
Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Job Specialty: CT Scan
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-hour day shift, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: One year of related experience
License: Radiologic Technologist License
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) Required
- ACLS (AHA) Preferred
- PALS (AHA) Preferred
Must-Have:
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. required
- Graduate of an approved program preferred
- English proficiency (Read, Write, Speak)
Job Description:
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.
- Perform high-quality images and exams while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
- Follow standards of safe radiation practice to ensure patient and self-safety.
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and serve as a role model for other technologists.
- Act as a clinical resource to unit personnel, ensuring current standards of practice.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, maintaining safety protocols.
- Adhere to ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
- Produce quality images accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare patients for exams, providing instructions and addressing needs.
- Assist patients during exams, ensuring proper positioning and comfort.
- Observe and report any unusual occurrences during procedures.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and resource utilization.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, and hospital staff.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Perform IV starts and administer contrast as required.
- Perform duties of other registered modalities as assigned.
- Provide on-call coverage outside standard hours per facility policy.
- Input charges and data for procedures and supplies used.
- Complete required paperwork for each exam performed.
- Prepare room, equipment, and materials needed for exams.
- Maintain the technical operation of equipment and report issues.
- Maintain a clean work area for employees and patients.
- Conduct quality checks and maintain equipment maintenance documentation.
- Proactively identify problems and report them to management.
- Establish constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and departments.
- Maintain high skill level through ongoing education and share knowledge with staff.
- Participate in clinical training for students and staff technologists.
- Engage in professional activities and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Contribute to accreditation efforts as requested.
- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workloads.
- Adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, and staffing needs.
- Floating may be required within designated areas and may include additional duties.
