Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Engineer - MBSE Architect Level 3 to join our high-performing team. This is a unique opportunity to directly support the United States Space Force (USSF) in driving mission success and advancing the future of space operations.

In this key role, you will support the Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) Integrated Program Office (IPO) - a critical initiative focused on delivering cutting-edge test and training capabilities to ensure USSF readiness and agility.

We're looking for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strategic insight and strong communication skills-an individual who thrives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments and is passionate about contributing to the evolution of space operations.

Skills / Experience Required

  • Current Tops Secret with SCI Clearance
  • Full-time, on-site presence required, with travel up to 25% in support of program needs.
  • 10+ years of proven, practical, and relevant Department of Defense (DoD) experience, delivering deep expertise and a strong foundation in mission-critical operations.
  • Extensive experience supporting System Program Offices (SPOs) and/or Program Management Offices (PMOs), including successful delivery of systems and capabilities tailored to their evolving needs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency through hands-on involvement in Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E), with a comprehensive understanding of test and training materiel systems to drive innovation and mission readiness.
  • In-depth, firsthand experience in the deployment, integration, and sustainment of space test and training materiel systems, ensuring seamless functionality and long-term operational effectiveness.
  • Proven background in Systems Engineering (SE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), with practical experience applying these principles throughout the system development lifecycle. Proficient in Cameo Systems Modelerâ„¢ and Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
  • Working knowledge of the Joint Capabilities Development and Integration System (JCIDS) and DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), with experience developing and applying relevant documentation and artifacts.
  • Diverse technical skills in Space system architectures, Satellite and ground segment design, Electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), and radio frequency (RF) sensors, Astrodynamics, propulsion, guidance, navigation & control (GNC), Space data communications and space battle management/control
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, complemented by a proven track record of effective teamwork and leadership within cross-functional, high-performance environments.

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree (required) in Systems Engineering or a related engineering field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Software, etc.)
  • Degrees in other Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) fields may be considered with substantial, relevant professional experience
  • Master's degree (MS/ME/MA) in Systems Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred
  • Degrees in other STEM fields may also be considered with significant, relevant professional experience

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
