Senior Accountant


Job Title: Senior Accountant Company: National Builder Group, LLC

Department: Accounting and Finance Reports to: Assistant Controller

Job Type: Regular Full-Time Work Hours: Monday - Friday

Effective Date: 3/14/2025 Exception Status: Exempt

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000

Profit-sharing: Bonuses vary based on business results

Role Summary:

Perform accounting tasks in collaboration with internal departments. As a member of the accounting team, this individual will also assist in daily, monthly, and annual activities, audits, and resolving discrepancies, as well as reporting and ad hoc duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities: None


Essential Functions:

· Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data

· Entering financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries into the ledger on a monthly basis

· Assist with budget review and reporting

· Prepare regular fluctuation analysis

· Review and approve weekly check runs

· Accounts Payable backup and support

· Support loan draw and cash management processes

· Support and review property closing entries

· Perform account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct

· Assist with the preparation of audits

· Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures

· Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices

· Perform administrative and other tasks as needed


Other Duties/Responsibilities:

· Supports the Accounting team with the day-to-day transactions, operations, compliance, reporting and risk management of the department


Minimum Required Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field

· At least 2 years’ experience in general ledger accounting or similar

· Advanced competency in accounting and business management software

· In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations

· Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills

· Proficient in Excel

· Self-motivated and self-directed

· Must be a team player

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data

· Ability to maintain confidentiality

· Deadline-driven with excellent time management ability

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization


Preferred Education/Credentials/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Familiarity with Buildertrend, a home builder software, a plus

· Familiarity with Sage Intacct, a plus

· Preference will be given to candidates with Construction and/or experience in the homebuilding industry
