Position Description
The Program Manager - Clinical Quality Improvement will oversee a portfolio of quality improvement initiatives to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity, implementing AIM Patient Safety Bundles and other statewide initiatives across clinics and hospitals. This position is part of CPCQC’s Clinical Quality Improvement team and reports to the Director of Quality Improvement. The Program Manager will be supported by peer Program Managers and dedicated Quality Improvement (QI) Advisors. This position will also work closely with the Data and Analytics, Integrated Behavioral Health, and Policy and Community Engagement teams whose work cuts across programs to support impact.
This full-time, salaried position operates remotely within Colorado, with quarterly in-person meetings in the Denver Metro area, visits to partner sites statewide, and attendance at forums and conferences hosted by CPCQC or key state, regional, or national partners.
Responsibilities
Program Management
- Lead implementation and tracking of designated quality improvement initiatives, ensuring they meet goals and create impact.
- Plan and facilitate steering committee meetings to guide strategy and execution for your primary initiative: Turning the Tide, SOAR, or the forthcoming Postpartum Discharge Transition Initiative.
- Develop and coordinate educational offerings and collaborative gatherings with QI Advisors and the Director of QI.
- Evaluate and assess how health equity is prioritized across your primary initiative and work with QI Advisors to strengthen health equity conversations, data analysis, and outcome objectives
- Track hospital engagement and manage an awards program recognizing hospital participation.
- Maintain detailed documentation for your primary initiative and ensure timely communication with hospital participants on logistics and resources.
- Evaluate cohort participation and progress toward goals in partnership with the Director of QI and Data Program Manager.
- Manage initiative calendars, including grant deliverables, deadlines, and educational and conference opportunities.
Grant Reporting and Data Strategy
- Oversee initiative implementation and deliverables, collaborating with the Data Program Manager to develop quality data interpretations for participants.
- Ensure timely and accurate data submission, maintaining up-to-date dashboards for useful, current data visualizations.
- Manage data use agreements and guide hospital staff on data submission with the Data Analyst.
- Identify data gaps with the Director of QI and Data Program Manager, inputting data and findings into grant reports.
- Collaborate with the QI Advisor to analyze data and identify quality improvement needs, resources, and hospital support.
Development and Communications
- Communicate CPCQC objectives to the community and potential partners, and share initiative-related information.
- Collaborate on quality improvement publications including but not limited to posters, abstracts, podium presentations, and journal articles.
- Engage with participating hospitals about initiative goals, logistics, and outcomes.
- Work with CPCQC’s communications and development team on:
- Social media content and thought leadership to raise awareness of CPCQC and partner work.
- Presenting at conferences across Colorado, and potentially nationally, on the impact and lessons of CPCQC’s initiatives.
Position Requirements
- 2–5 years of progressive leadership experience in the nonprofit or healthcare sector, with experience in maternal and child health initiatives preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree (required) or master’s degree (preferred) in a clinically relevant field, public health, healthcare management, or related field.
- Experience working directly with healthcare providers and hospital systems on community health initiatives.
- Strong commitment to valuing diversity and equity in the workplace.
- Proven operational leadership skills, including project management, strategic planning, and analysis.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills essential for coordinating multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Relationship-building skills to engage effectively with team members, partners, and stakeholders.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $73,000–$78,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include unlimited paid time off, paid holidays, employer medical, dental, and vision coverage contributions, and a company 401(k) match.
