Job Title: Accountant II
Duration: 6+ months contract
Location: Colorado Springs, CO - 80915
Rate: $35/hr on W2 (No C2C)

- Preference for someone with manufacturing experience

- Good understanding of Efficiency & Production Variances or Standard Costing of Inventory
- Must have 2 - 5 years experience
We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing cost information related to labor, inventory, and operational expenses, while collaborating with multiple departments to provide effective cost tools. This role also includes supporting budget and forecast reports, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities: - Analyze and collect cost data associated with labor, production variances, inventory, efficiency, TE, indirect materials, and other organizational expenses.
- Assist in preparing budget and forecasting reports.
- Support the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries.
- Assist with annual and ad-hoc standard cost rolls.
- Maintain and manage fixed assets and submit capital expenditure requests.
- Reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Provide documentation for audit compliance and requests.
- Collaborate with various departments to educate and deliver cost tracking tools.
Qualifications: - Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant, or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and basic formulas).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong time management and ability to work independently.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Skills: - Experience tracking efficiencies, direct labor hours, production variances, and inventory evaluation in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with fixed asset management and journal entry preparation for manufacturing plants.
